When is it needed?
Inflamed or infected tissue inside a tooth may require root canal treatment. An examination and, when needed, an X-ray help assess the tooth.
What does the microscope do?
The microscope magnifies and illuminates the area, helping the dentist see small structures and canal openings.
What happens during treatment?
After local anaesthesia and isolation with a rubber dam, the dentist cleans and disinfects the canals. The canals are then filled and sealed, and the tooth is restored.
After treatment
Temporary sensitivity can occur. Some teeth need a crown. Follow the aftercare instructions and contact the practice if pain or swelling increases or you develop a fever.
