A crown
A crown covers an existing tooth. It may be suitable when there is not enough healthy tooth tissue to support a filling.
A bridge
A bridge replaces one or more missing teeth. The replacement is supported by neighbouring teeth or, in some situations, implants.
From assessment to fitting
The dentist discusses the options, prepares the teeth and takes an impression or scan. After checking the fit, the restoration is fixed in place. A temporary restoration may be provided.
Daily care
Clean carefully around the edges and beneath the replacement tooth in a bridge. Ask about the appropriate cleaning method. Contact the practice if the restoration feels loose or sensitivity persists.
